  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/35
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Phil,
Since you aren't keeping with the chapters in the PG text should you be using 'section' instead of 'chapter' in the intro/ending?

12:19 – repeat - The Psychologist looked at us. “I wonder what he’s got?”

12:31 – pause repeat - and Filby tried to tell us about a conjuror he had seen at Burslem, but before he had finished his preface the Time Traveller came back,

I am so excited about this project. Strangely, I've never gotten around to reading this one.

Sections vs. chapters: I am following what previous people have done with this story. Thinking about it, I think I will opt for "part one" etc. that feels better to me. will change that when fixing the first part.

I will fix the problems later today andlet you know.

I like 'parts'. I don't think it gets used enough and will be perfect for this project. Good choice.

Part 1 has been repaired and uploaded again. As always, let me know if it needs more fixing. I must admit that I don't think I read this as a youth. Or perhaps I just don't remember. The movies may have distorted things for me. In any case, we are in for some serious fun and scary stuff as mankind and the world fall apart. :D

The repeats have been fixed but the intro/ending still says 'chapter' instead of 'part'.

If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Say:
"The Time Machine, by H. G. Wells. [Chapter]"

What did you want to do about the end of the intro?

Part 1 still has "chapter 1" instead of "part 1" in the last part of the intro.

Part 2 is spot check PL OK.

Part 3 is PL OK.

You are a great PLer! I completely missed that second 'chapter' in part 1. Fixed now but who knows what else is lurking inside, eh?
