Hi Larry,

Compliments of the Season to you! Sorry I have been so quiet, things very busy in my household with my elderly father in law who has been staying with us for over a month, also my son from Cape Town, so it's been quite hectic, lots on the go.

Section 32 is uploaded for checking, please at 88.5 dB.

Section 32 is PL OK, pink dress and all.

"Busy" seems to be the operative word!
The Christmas surge is over for my company, but we're almost as busy still, and I don't think it is going to let up. More people are shopping on line and over the phone and then they all have problems they need help with. That's me, customer service! I haven't been in the office since last March, and we've just been told that is going to extend at least until September. Fine with me since I have a long commute.

The home front is busy as well, of course. And, the events of this past week have been tumultuous and quite emotional for me. :(

Hope to get the vaccine soon....

All the best,

Hi Larry,

Thanks a bunch, hehe, yes pink dress and all... he he.

So glad you are able to successfully work from home, and it saves you that long commute too. I've been back at my office since last April, as i rent an office from a firm of architects (as I am the lone ranger here in my region for my own company due to the regional office closing down completely at the end of 2018). My office is in a separate suite upstairs, and there is only one other rented office, (an ex colleague, geotechnical engineer, who now has his own company) and he does not always come in, so I am so private and almost zero risk of covid infections. It suits me, as we live in a small townhouse and my son is a freelancer who works from home and my husband is home all day too - so there are a lot of distractions / noise, etc.

So sorry to hear about your tumultuous week!

Two weeks ago we had a scare as well - my son who was staying with us became very ill, and we took him to the doctor - fortunately the covid test came back negative, as we were worried about my 94 year old father in law who has been staying with us since mid December. My son from Cape Town left on Saturday to drive back, and this Thursday we are taking my father in law back home (also Cape Town), and going to make a mini holiday trip of it by staying at a wine farm on the outskirts of Cape Town on the way back. The mini break will be lovely, although work is always a challenge catching up when I get back.

Take care,

Leanne

Hi Larry and Tom,

A quick hello to just send apologies for being so quiet, but things a bit hectic, both on the home and work front.

We took my 94 father in law back to Cape Town, overnighting along the way, and then we had planned a 2 day getaway on our return journey. Unfortunately this was not to be, as our vehicle (Amarok 4 x 4) literally just ceased / lost power while we were on the freeway. The short version of a long story is that we had to be towed to the nearest town to overnight (as it happened on a Sunday), then arrange for a flatbed rollback to tow the vehicle to the nearest service station, arrange for a hired car, etc. It was a weird thing that happened, a bolt came loose, which caused the cambelt to come off, and other engine damage - took 2 weeks to fix and a few tens of thousands of rands as well. We had to hire another vehicle to get home, and then when the vehicle was ready a friend of ours drove my husband through to collect it. I got back to work half a day later than expected with all the drama, and then had to play catch-up, so never a dull moment. Anyhow, we are just thankful that it happened where it did, and that we were not overtaking a truck etc at the time, as it could have caused a nasty accident. So all is well, we are just a bit poorer!

I did some recording, finally, yesterday, so hopefully within a week or so I will let you have section 33.

Hope you are all well.

Take care
Leanne

Oh, my, that is one of those adventures we can do without!

Glad you are safe and back into the routine.

Nice things about solo projects is that there is never any pressure to keep to schedules or anything else. This should be your relaxation.

May your days be peaceful.

PS, I love the lighthearted banter between Dr Bretton and his mum... it comes through particularly (albeit subtly) in this chapter....
