Section 8 is PL OK
You are now about one third of the way through volume 1 so it is going well. Volume 2 is slightly shorter.
btw: I cannot actually access the Hathi text you are using as they restrict access outside the USA. As this project is standard PL I do not actually need the text but I am partly following it from my own rather ancient paperback copy.

Thank you for the encouragement...it's a wordy book, and sometimes I get lost in trying to figure out where the windy sentences are going. LOL
Section 9 is ready for PL, and the way you're doing it is just fine and much appreciated.

PL note for section 9: there seems to be a short repeat around 25:45
Noting Moncrieff's use here of the N-word I wonder if it might be worth adding a note to the summary to says that some of the language is "of its time" and may be offensive to modern day listeners.
Proust himself used the slightly less offensive term "négro".

9 is ready for spot PL, and I agree the disclaimer should be added. It crossed my mind as I read the word (and even if it had been translated a "negro" it would merit a note). I'll add that to the summary.alanmapstone wrote: ↑September 16th, 2020, 10:23 pm PL note for section 9: there seems to be a short repeat around 25:45
