Two very short chapters coming up next, which I hope to get finished by the end of the week!
PL OK!

I can't adequately express how much I'm learning. The details pass right through my head, but I will look at all this again when the project is finished.

Section 6 PL OK!

One might ask oneself, Had I lived at this time and at this place, where would I have stood?

I have to guess that my viewpoint would depend very much on my location. If I were one of those living on a patroon's land, it would be a very personal issue. But if I lived here at the more western end of the state, where patroonery didn't reach, I might very well see it as a far-away issue in which I took no particular interest. And lacking any personal interest, I'd probably wonder what all the ruckus was about.

There's a post office in Delhi, NY, with a mural depicting a calico-clad band of Anti-Renters. The mural shows them seizing one of the deputies that were sent to serve writs. (Maybe it's that Bill Snyder made famous in song?) The mural was painted in 1939/1940, so unfortunately too recent to be PD for use as the CD cover. Too bad, because it's very lively and colorful!

I agree -- a very pithy and humorous way to describe the situation!

Thanks, Kevin, for keeping up with sieges, assaults, murders -- (and even occasional songs!) I've been busy this week catching up some sections I owed in a group project. But now that I've got that done, I'll be back here to work on the Calico Saga. After all, Dr. Boughton is still sitting in jail, and we must find out what happens to him! More mayhem is in store very shortly!

Looking forward to it!

By the way, I understand that the Smithsonian has released most (?) of their images into the public domain. There is a photo there of the post office mural you mentioned some days ago (for use as a cover.) A google search will probably find it right away. Otherwise, ask me.
