The Markenmore Mystery by J. S. Fletcher (1863 - 1935).

To be Completed ( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/files/59818/59818-h/59818-h.htm
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi,
Posting now. I see that the author's name is Fletcher.. but not the fictitious Jessica from "Murder She Wrote"
But a mystery, this should be good. :)

Let me know if anything is amiss. Did you intend to have 24 sections? You can easily add a 25th.

I've always wondered if the name choice in Murder She Wrote was to honor the author, JS Fletcher.

Hmm, An invalid who may or may not pass away at any time; I think the plot is already setting up nicely.

I've just PL'ed chap. 3 and there's a small glitch:

at 3:13 missing line in
“I asked him if he knew why you left home. He answered—just what you’ve answered.” “Well?” asked Guy, with something very like a growl. “Well?”

Otherwise very fine reading.
