The Freedom of the Will by Jonathan Edwards (1703 - 1758).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-freedom-of-the-will-by-jonathan-edwards/

Abandoned project adopted by neecheelok70.
As religion is the great business, for which we are created, and on which our happiness depends; and as religion consists in an intercourse between ourselves and our Maker; and so has its foundation in God's nature and ours, and in the relation that God and we stand in to each other; therefore a true knowledge of both must be needful in order to true religion. But the knowledge of ourselves consists chiefly in right apprehensions concerning those two chief faculties of our nature, the Understanding and Will. Both are very important: yet the science of the latter must be confessed to be of greatest moment; inasmuch as all virtue and religion have their seat more immediately in the will, consisting more especially in right acts and habits of this faculty. And the grand question about the Freedom of the Will, is the main point that belongs to the science of the Will. Therefore I say, the importance of this subject greatly demands the attention of Christians, and especially of Divines. ( From the preface)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Ha! Apparently I hadn't taken you out of the DPL role before. Well, that saves me having to put you in again. ;) Thanks!

It appears I can download it. I'll figure out a way to get it to you. It's big (1220 pages!), so it won't fit in an email attachment. :) Hold on...

It's taking FOREVER to upload, but eventually it'll be available to download here: http://ge.tt/9vQrXrw2

If my math is correct, it'll take 1.5-2 hours to upload. That is, if my computer doesn't go to sleep while it's doing it!

The Freedom of the Will is right after the 50-60 page preface, so it starts somewhere around page 60 in the PDF.

So sorry. Why wouldn't another source work better? I never thought you would have to do all this.

I'm not sure there was another source at the time. No worries - it's going faster than I expected. It's past halfway uploaded. :)

Greetings -

I guess I am a bit confused.

Do we need a different source from the one originally given in the intro?

No, the same source will be used, but Jim can't access it. (Perhaps he doesn't have a Google account?)

OK, it's fully uploaded, Jim. Try downloading it from that link.
