Uncle Wiggily on the Farm by Howard R. Garis (1873 - 1962).

This is a collection of stories about Uncle Wiggily Longears, the nice bunny rabbit gentleman, and his adventures on the farm. The publishers note says that, "the stories herein contained appeared originally in the Evening News, of Newark, N.J., where (so many children and their parents have been kind enough to say) they gave pleasure to a number of little folks and grown-ups also." ( SweetHome)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://hdl.handle.net/2027/umn.31951d01736899h?urlappend=;seq=14
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

If you go to the full catalog record, HathiTrust has labeled it as public domain and published in 1919. I couldn't see any publication date listed within the scan. I don't know if that was of any help :D

Thank you for MC'ing this project. About the copyright...thanks for looking into it. I got a bit confused, as there are two copyright dates within the scan: 1918 and 1939. I'm thinking the stories are written and first published on the first date and they were compiled into a book on the second. Then, as you pointed out, HathiTrust has it marked as copyright 1919.

I uploaded three more chapters. I also re-uploaded chapter 1. When I was listening to it again, I noticed that I could do a bit more noise removal for the background. That was the only change I made there.
