Eight Keys to Eden by Mark Clifton (1906 - 1963).

When Earth loses contact with the colony planet Eden, an expedition is sent to find out why. Even though the planet has been determined to have no hostile properties, the second expedition is astonished to find no evidence of the colony. The colonists are spread out, naked, wandering dazed among the bushes, with no sign of any of the technology they brought from earth. - Summary by Dale Grothmann

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/eight-keys-to-eden-by-mark-clifton/

  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/27595
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Amy

Maybe the prologue should be called "Seven Doors To Seven Rooms Of Thought" which is it's actual name?? Just a thought.

Sure, Dale. It is your call. Do you want to write a summary for this?

Hi Amy:

How about

When Earth loses contact with the colony planet Eden, an expedition is sent to find out why. Even though the planet has been determined to have no hostile properties, the second expedition is astonished to find no evidence of the colony. The colonists are spread out, naked, wandering dazed among the bushes, with no sign of any of the technology they brought from earth.

Thanks for everything

Sorry I missed the launch of this, but glad to be aboard. :)

I think you might want to change your naming scheme
eightkeys_03_clifton_128kb.mp3 would be the more standard, and using 00 for the prologue
I thnk they have to be numbered so they sort right in the compilation process, so they need two digits anyway.

I'll let Amy give us the scoop.

In any case, I've marked the prologue as PL OK, and I'll get caught up as soon as I can.
My work scheduled for the rest of June has change, so time is a little tighter.
On the road again, so delays are possible

Thanks for catching that, Larry. Dale, please rename the prologue eightkeys_00_clifton_128kb and upload it again.
