Hi -

Here are another three chapters (39, 40 and 41)

https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/queensnecklace_41_dumas_128kb.mp3
5:30.4, 88.9 dB

https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/queensnecklace_42_dumas_128kb.mp3
3:35.4, 89.9 dB

https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/queensnecklace_43_dumas_128kb.mp3
11:32.0, 89.4 dB

It's a bit dangerous when I do three at a time. Hopefully I haven't got anything scrambled, but I know I can count on you to tell me if I have (please, and thank you).

Thank you, and happy travels. Somewhere exciting or at least interesting I hope.

53-56 PL OK!

Traveling so will not be online some days. Am on a bluff overlooking Cook Inlet (with three snow-covered volcanoes on the far side). Cook was trying to find the infamous northwest passage.

The things we do to get mobile coverage! That's a pretty cool place to be. Any dark at night? How are the mosquitos? Any bears? Any whales? Have fun! YR.no shows a GREAT weather forecast for the next week with only light rain (on Tuesday) and mild temperatures (good for the mozzies).

Sunset is after 10pm. A forest fire has blocked the only road off the peninsula. This time of year it usually rains a lot. Only a few mosquitos, no whale sightings yet and luckily there are lots of berries that taste better than people. Had moose yesterday and caribou today.

Hi David -

Absolutely no rush, but here are three more Chapters

https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/queensnecklace_57_dumas_128kb.mp3
5:07.7, 89.3 dB

https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/queensnecklace_58_dumas_128kb.mp3
8:30.3, 90.3 dB

https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/queensnecklace_59_dumas_128kb.mp3
6:05.3, 89.8 dB

Sounds like you are eating well. Guessing, moose tasted more like cow and caribou like venison? I remember some to-die-for buffalo short ribs at a gastro pub in Saskatoon some years ago.... yum. Any whales in the waters? Being stuck on a peninsula due to a wall of flames would be unnerving I think... wishing for rain for you (not for me - headed into the hills tomorrow). Did you drive there from Chicago? It's a drive I've always wanted to do ... in the summer.

Many thanks for listening

57-59 PL OK.

The meat was heavily seasoned. Both were rather dry though. No whales (or bears) yet, but we have seen puffins (two species), seals, sea lions, bald eagles, a mountain goat, a Dahl(?) porpoise and a billion salmon (4 species). Fires are still a problem. Closed roads (most towns have only one road into and out of them) and the loss of train service have made travel difficult.
