Moral Letters, Vol. III by Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 - 65) by Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 BCE - 65). Translated by Richard M. Gummere (1883 - 1969)

Volunteers outside the USA: Richard M. Gummere died in 1969. The author's work is still protected by copyright in places like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1955) or Canada (author's death plus 50 years), UNLESS the rule of shorter term applies.
This is the third volume of the Letters, Epistles LXVI-XCII. Among the personalities of the early Roman Empire there are few who offer to the readers of to-day such dramatic interest as does Lucius Annaeus Seneca, the author of the Epistles. These letters, written by Seneca towards the end of his life, are all addressed to his friend Lucilius, who, at the time when these letters were written, was a procurator in Sicily. The form of this work, as Bacon says, is a collection of essays rather than of letters. ( Summary by Suprada Urval)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/adluciliumepistu03sene
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hello, I can MC for you. I will set up the window in a few moments.

Edit: Everything ready! Let me know if you have any doubts, but this will go just like volume 2. :) I added the ~to the title to see if we find a DPL.

Hello! Any news on this project? We usually ask readers to check in once a month, even if nothing has been recorded, just so we know the project is still in the plans.

Hi Leni,
Still working on it. I needed to scrap the first recording due to lousy sound quality. Rerecording again.

Hey guys! I'm sorry to have to do this, but I have to relinquish my PL duties for this project since school has started and I am very busy!

Thanks for understanding,

Elsie Selwyn
