It's PL OK, Pam. I read recently that, until modern times, Europe (maybe other places too) used to experience only 3 years of peace on average between its wars. I remember that Steven Pinker says that our era is described as "The Long Peace".

If you were a young nobleman, I guess training for and going to war were your occupation, unless you went in for the Church or the Law?
