The Secret Tomb by Maurice le Blanc (1864 - 1941).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-secret-tomb-by-maurice-leblanc/

(to be provided) ( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/59072
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

    IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
    Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

    Magic Window:

    • Say:

    For the second and all subsequent sections, you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:
    • "Chapter [number] of The Secret Tomb by Maurice le Blanc. This LibriVox recording is in the Public Domain."
    • If you wish, say:
      "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"

And as promised, 1 is uploaded! Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed reading it! Very engaging!

Also, don't be scared to give me notes :D. There is absolutely no pressure to do more than necessary, but if you are ever in a critical mood or don't know whether or not to mention something, I don't mind at all :D. Enjoy!

Excellent Narration. :clap: I enjoyed it to the max. You are one of my favorite readers. :9: I love the way you gave each character a different voice. I can hear that you really enjoyed reading it. I can't wait to hear the next chapter.

There are two small things that need to be fixed.

@19:03
You missed the word "Yes"
"Yes, and I saw..."
Also, could you leave a little silence between this sentence and the previous one?

@18:49
There is opening/closing of a door (I think) at the end of the sentence.
Then we won't say anything more about it.

That's all. Good Job! :thumbs:
Thanks, SaraHale. :D

Thank you sooo much, that means a lot :D! I'm very glad you liked it. I also can't wait for the next chapter, it's very engaging! Just a heads up, in a few days I'm getting some teeth pulled and suspect I will need to take a few days break from recording. I may get another chapter uploaded tomorrow, but there are some other projects I also need to make progress on so no promises either way. I will be back as soon as I can though!

I think it is at 19:04 or 5 now, and added the word 'yes'. Also added the silence. I recently learned the art of punch and roll, and suspect that this may have been one of the spots where I used it. It is supposed to show you where you re recorded it so you can go back and check, but sometimes it hasn't. I guess that's what I get for not listening to the whole thing :oops:.

Ah those pesky family members :twisted: :lol:. I tried to cut it out at the end, and I think I was successful. If you don't think so however I am more than happy to re record.

Thank you so much for your PLing! I am very glad to work with you :D
