Hi there,

Here is Chapter 7

P.S. My wife has a second cousin named Allerdyce in Scotland. This will make sense as you read the chapter. :)

I missed the Allerdyce reference. Was it in the old woman's speech that I could not understand well?

7:21 - skip: "braced me yet more...at I began to pluck up"

10:39 - skip: "a good enough whig...made a fool of neither"

18:33 - skip: "those who do not love and cherish him...I will not know"

Here is the 'revised' Chapter 7:

Time 27:29

Some comments. I guess the problem (as far as the brogue goes) is living in that neck of the woods for a few years, my ear got use to it. When I was going through this chapter for practice before recording, and came to Lady Allerdyce, and did it in accent, my wife said no one will be able to understand you, so I cut it back a lot to what was on the recording you listened to. Then with Tricia's comment "Was it in the old woman's speech that I could not understand well?", I decided to just redo all Lady Allerdyce/Mrs. Oglvie's parts with an unaccented voice. So it should be easier (I hope) to understand. Also Tricia, the first skip was at 4:21 rather than 7:21. I finally found it using 'find on this page' looking for 'braced' and found it and fixed it, along with the other two. The Lady Allerdyce reference was at about 7:57 when David was talking to her.

Thanks for all your help,

Wayne

Ah, a quick reference to the name. No wonder I missed it before. And sorry about the wrong time stamp!

I can definitely understand her speech now, and I think it's just as effective. :) Spot PL OK!

No, I haven't died, just close, or it seemed to me at the time. On March 18th, I came down with a very bad cold which developed into Bronchitis. Just yesterday, really, I finally got my voice back, so here, finally, is Chapter 10. It seems good to be "back in the saddle again". :9:
