Romola by George Eliot by George Eliot (1819 - 1880).

Romola (1862–63) is a historical novel by George Eliot set in the fifteenth century, and is "a deep study of life in the city of Florence from an intellectual, artistic, religious, and social point of view".[citation needed] The story takes place amidst actual historical events during the Italian Renaissance, and includes in its plot several notable figures from Florentine history.

The novel first appeared in fourteen parts published in Cornhill Magazine from July 1862 (vol. 6, no. 31) to August 1863 (vol. 8, no. 44), and was first published as a book, in three volumes, by Smith, Elder & Co. in 1863. (Wikipedia) ( Wikipedia)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/24020
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Farnood,

I can MC this for you.

This appears to be your first solo. As a soloist you are the also the BC (book coordinator) for this project (see links below with instructions and details).

The MW is started and tested.

I have made a few edits to the first post.

Thanks, David. I had a question. Should I submit my recordings right in this "New Projects Launch Pad" forum, or I have to wait for you to move it to "Going Solo"? I also would like to ask should I search for Prooflisteners or they will be available as time goes by?

Thanks,
Farnood

Thanks,
First question, about submitting recordings - you can submit recordings once the BC has filled in the MW (which you have) so YES you can start submitting - it does not matter which part of the forum the project is in. You both the reader and the BC so when you upload a recording please both post in the forum that a new Chapter/section is ready and also update the MW.

Second question, about Proof-listeners - the ~ symbol which appears before the title in the forum title lets everyone know that this project does not have a "dedicated proof listener" or DPL. I generally leave a project in the "Launch Pad" for a while to try and attract a DPL, but one may appear when the project is in "Going Solo" as well. I can PL your recordings if we don't have a DPL and there other volunteers who will stop-by to projects for proof-listening, but don't have the time to dedicate themselves to listening for a whole project. You are more likely to get someone to proof-listen when there is something listed in the MW that needs listening to. If your recordings sit and don't get listened to, please send me a reminder post or PM.

I am moving this project to "Going Solo".

Since you are the BC, when you upload a file please update the MW in addition to posting here. Both will alert a DPL that a new section sees a listen, but they do it differently. The post will alert anyone subscribed to the topic while updating the MW will update the DPL’s reader page.

I was hoping a DPL would show up.

Prologue is PL OK.
