Mildred at Roselands by Martha Finley (1828 - 1909).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/mildred-at-roselands-by-martha-finley/
In order to recover her health, Mildred Keith goes to visit her mother's extended family, the Dinsmores, in the South. Mildred makes new friends while at Roselands, learns important lessons and grows in her faith in Christ. ( Amy)
  1. Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/46537
    .
  2. Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard
    .
IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • Say:
"Mildred at Roselands, by Martha Finley. [Chapter]"

    .
For the second and all subsequent sections, you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:
    • "Chapter [number] of Mildred at Roselands by Martha Finley. This LibriVox recording is in the Public Domain."
    • If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • Only if applicable, say:
      "[Chapter title]"
    .
    END of recording:

      .
    • At the end of the book, say (in addition):
"End of Mildred at Roselands, by Martha Finley. "

There should be ~5 seconds silence at the end of the recording.

Hello Amy,
I can’t DPL for you but I can get you caught up.

Sections 0 and 2 are PL OK.

Please check the ending silence on section 1. My playback didn’t have any time remaining.

It sounds to be a lovely story and you are off to a great story. Enjoy. :D

Amy,
I wasn't at my computer when I originally PLed your sections. I downloaded section 3 to listen to and ran it through the checker. It's a little loud at 92.5dB. Out of curiosity I downloaded the others and ran them through the checker as well. Section 0 is fine but 1-2 are low at 84.5 and 85dB, respectfully.

Other than the volume, section 3 is PL OK.

You picked up a recurring crackle. It sounds as if your mic jac might be lose or you were hitting it during recording. It’s not something to cause you to record this section again, rather something to keep watch for.

You are doing a lovely job with this project.

Thanks for letting me know.

I have fixed the volume on Sections 1, 2 and 3. I hope it's better now.

Thanks!
