yes always the same filename for corrections. The new file will then replace the old file in the MW.
Got it!

I was pleased/impressed that I could re-record a section days later and paste it in without it having any noticable changes in vocal quality/timber, etc. I certainly can't claim it being due to skill. I guess the effort put in to setting up my coat-closet "studio" paid-off.

yes your patches are really excellent. And yes, it may be the set-up, but it is also a good deal of careful editing involved to make the sound so similar. You did really well.

That said, there is still one error in the intro (I'm so sorry :( )

> at 0:01: there was a misunderstanding, now you cut out the wrong “hints to pilgrims” bit.

It needs to read: “Chapter 1 of Hints to Pilgrims” (which is the title of the book). But you read “Chapter 1: Hints to pilgrims” (= the title of the chapter, which only comes later, right before the text proper)

One last upload please and then we're good to move on. And don't worry, by the end of the book you will recite the intro in your sleep

Easily fixed, I think!
As mentioned, "word perfect" is the goal.
I'm "booked" for the day, but will address this first thing tomorrow.
by the end of the book you will recite the intro in your sleep

It seems that one aspect of having "retired" that hasn't changed from my "working life" is that I STILL need/want a 32 hour day. :help:
have a nice weekend
Thank you. You have a great one as well.

Yay!
Thank you for your patience and persistence.
Goes both ways; thank you for your guidance and clear instructions.
Looking forward to the next chapter.
"I plan a vacation" has been delayed a week for my own little vacation; I'm off on a camping trip to Leavitt Lake (a 4wd-accessible alpine lake @ 9500' just east of the Sonora Pass) to take some time-lapse sequences before winter snows close access to the area until next May. So... the week of Halloween is the new target.
Enjoy the upcoming week.

how fitting  enjoy your trip

that panoramic view is WOW  although, it looks so deserted of people somehow, a little bit creepy. Let's hope you have nice weather for good photo sessions ! Are you camping ? Is it still warm enough to sleep outside ?

looks so deserted of people
A major reason I'm drawn to the area; the same holds true for my journeys into Death Valley. :D

The forecast is for good weather thru Thursday, when I plan to head home. Of course, in the Sierras foul weather is always possible and at that elevation it can snow year round.
Is it still warm enough to sleep outside ?
Last I checked, it's just reaching freezing sometimes at night. So, double sleeping bag and a spare blanket or two. I have a good tent, cot, and insulating air mattress.
When I get back, I'll send links to any decent images or time-lapse clips if you want. I expect it to be a good trip, and really don't expect hardly anyone else to be around.

wonderfully funny and entertaining again, Bob. Ahhhh, the sight-seeing descriptions have awoken my nostalgia for our trips to England and Scotland again, years ago. :9: I understand how the author feels.

I only found two small textual deviations, which I'd like to point out:

> at 16:38: “How many feasts have come steaming from the kitchen when the London coach was in!” – this one is optional, as your sentence also makes perfect sense, but you said “streaming” instead of “steaming”. But I let you decide if you want to change this or not

> at 18:35: “Drake, I assert, still bowls nightly on the quay at Plymouth” – you say “queue

that's all :)

Oh and when you post the link in the MW, please also change the status to "Ready for PL" (in the last column)

Thanks

Glad you still like my interpretation!

I will address both "quay" and "streaming" later today. While I argee that "streaming" does make textual sense, it damages the play on words he clearly intended.
please also change the status to "Ready for PL"
I'm still a newbie and some things slip by.

Speaking of newbies, I have a new partner in crime.
My wife just signed-up too!
So, for awhile, I'll get to be her "recording engineer."

Best,

Bob
