The Cave In the Mountain by Edward Ellis ( - 0).

Edward Sylvester Ellis was a major American author during the era of inexpensive fiction of the nineteenth century (dime novels). Because he wrote under dozens of pseudonyms, as well as under his own name, it is virtually impossible to know exactly how many books he wrote, but it is believed to be in the hundreds. He specialized in boys' stories, inspirational biography, and history for both children and adults. (From FictionDB.com)
This is a western, set in the Pecos River valley in the late 19th century, post Civil War era. This is the sequel to "In the Pecos Country", and the second half of the same story, begun in that book.

  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

That was because the wrong name was in the system as BC. Now who I wonder, could have done that?? Anyway, fixed now and ready for more high adventures to begin.

Yes, thank you. I've put in the titles and assigned the sections. That's all I've done so far.
I have some material recorded, but it's not ready to release yet.

OK, here's the first two chapters at last. I have more "in the can", but not processed yet.

Section 1 "I. A Strange Guide" and section 2 "II. Alone in the Gloom" are uploaded and ready for PL.

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/caveinthemountain_01_ellis_128kb.mp3
Time duration: 11:21.

Time duration: 11:16.

Sorry it took so long, but I've been working on another project and don't have as much time for this as I used to. I'll try to get something in at least once a week from now on.

No problem. As soloist, you have lots of time and there is no one putting any pressure on you. Kinda nice, isn't it? :D
