Hi Pam,

Section 13 is PL OK. It's been on the tip of my tongue to say that he isn't always quite fair to Elizabeth, and I think with this section I just have to out and say it. Humph. Okay, carry on!

Happy Halloween! So far today I've seen nobody, nobody at all, in costume. Maybe that will change. Then again, maybe I'm saving up all my Halloween energy for when I'm somewhere where I can throw a proper Halloween party and release years of spookiness!

Hi Pam,

I have an optional note for 15 and one that does actually change the meaning.

At your discretion:
7.29-7.32, first paragraph p. 116
...when, in January, Deventer and the fort of Zutphen…
I'm hearing a stress on the second syllable for both towns, and it's generally on the first. It's perfectly intelligible, and I only mention it because 1. I know how careful you are about these things and 2. you're likely to have your mic out again in the near future anyway!

https://forvo.com/search/deventer/

12.18-12.20, first sentence of last paragraph p. 118
...he entered the bay [heard city]...
