My first attempt at a solo book! I didn't see this listed in the Librivox catalog so am hoping I'm the first one. Help and a good MC will be gratefully accepted. Thanks! :-)

The Fun of Getting Thin by Samuel G. Blythe (1868 - 1947).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-fun-of-getting-thin-by-samuel-g-blythe/

In this short, amusing book, subtitled "How to Be Thin and Reduce The Waist Line," Samuel G. Blythe explains how he lost weight using common sense and a plan of his own devising. ***NOTE: It should be noted that there is language within this book that was commonplace during the time this book was written that is often considered offensive today.*** ( Christine Lehman)
  1. Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/14743
    .
  2. Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

For the second and all subsequent sections, you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:

Just wondering, at the beginning of Chapter 1, should I add the publication date & publisher?

Also, I just edited the book summary to include this disclaimer:

***NOTE: It should be noted that there is language within this book that was commonplace during the time this book was written that is often considered offensive today.***

This is due to the word "coon" in chapter 2. Hope that's OK to do.

Adding that to the summary is fine, I'll update the catalog record.

I don't usually hear people read the publication date and publisher. Maybe if it really mattered, but in the case of this book, I don't see that people would care what the publication date is.

I think you go to the BC admin link under the MW and paste the link in the subsequent page with the timings posted under notes.
