Hi Barbara,

I’m very sorry you have a cold. That is a total drag.

Get well soon and thanks!

Thanks, Pam. Section 9 is PL OK.

I hadn't realised how powerful the German kings were so far back in time but maybe they were rulers of Southern Germany and, it seems, Bremen? I don't recollect mention of the North and the East of Germany. Oh, Wikipedia has just shot down my private theory that the North East was still pagan...

Hi Barbara,

Yes, it’s confusing. Of course, Lithuania was still pagan.

Thanks!

What an interesting chapter and I was on top of the various characters and the action, thanks to you. Oh, and the closing lines - "Men knew not whither his unbridled impulses would hurry him...."

PL OK.

Yes, and thank God for Forvo.com!

This was quite good on Hildebrand's motivations for endorsing William.

Thanks!

PL OK again Pam. And I think I'm right in guessing that the famous Road to Canossa is in our future. It is! I just looked it up as I was afraid of having made a fool of myself.
