I'm looking forward to it - I think. It sounds odd to say I'm looking forward to that. So far Besant has really been holding his own in terms of making sense of a life that didn't have an obvious path. And his prescience in writing of the natives people is all too accurate.

Hi Pam,

I'm glad you uploaded a section today. I'm getting sick of the sound of my own voice from editing!

Section 16 is PL OK. It's clear elsewhere in the biography that Besant admired Cook a great deal, and it would be all too easy to gloss over the viciousness of such an heroic figure. I'm glad he at least confronts this side to Cook.

Hi Pam,

One note for section 17 - around 0.11, at the end of the intro, the extra bit/chapter title was omitted: The Third Voyage, pt. 3

Fascinating. What is glossed over, ignored or perhaps wasn't noticed in the first place seems to throw up more questions in every chapter than the chapter can elucidate. In this section, I wanted to know more about the 'girl' who warned them about the intended kidnapping/ambush/retaliation. What on earth is the story behind that?

Hi Pam,

Sections 17 and 18 are PL OK. Tough going, listening during the Anthropocene era.
