Complete[TRIO] In New England Fields & Woods by Rowland Robinson-ag
Thanks Larry!
No worries mate, record them when you find the time!
We missed the worse of the storm here, one of the advantageous of being right on the coast I guess .... maybe 2-3" of snow and just a brush of ice .. just enough to let us know that Winter is settling in (and that I STILL have not cleaned out the gutters).
That's great on the move! ..not the commute, but the six acres of woods ... nice!
Hope you have a great Holiday season and don't work too hard!

Hi Miss H!
Section 38 is in the MW for PL .... we don't hear them much here in the wilds of Maine, but when we lived in NY, we used to hear their drumming all the time but rarely ever saw them. Magnificent birds!
One more to go!!

Hi Helen!
My last section (39) is in the MW for PL ..... a very bittersweet essay, that must have been very difficult for Mr. Robinson to write.
Larry, no pressure at all on your sections. I know with the move and all, it must be hard to find any recording time!
Are you guys all moved in? ... how is that going?
If you would like me to record any of your last remaining ones, just let me know .. I could do the last 3 or 4 if you would like ... but again, there is no deadline or pressure to record these, so if you still want to do them, then by all means they are yours!

Ah, settling into the new place, crunching through the snow to find the deer tracks, knowing the bears are tucked into their caves on the other side of the mountain, seeing the night stars and blessed quietness. For now, just appliance noise to contend with. Another year or so, I may have a real studio place to call my own.
Now to get the rest of these evocative pieces recorded.
Haven't seen a raccoon for awhile. Mortimer and Herkimer were two young ones we had for pets back in Oregon when someone brought them in from the woods. Fascinating creatures, but wild, so we didn't have them long.

Thank you, Nemo!
Quite cold and windy today.
Just walked a bit this evening by the light of the moon, but Orion still shining. And nothing but the crunch of the snow and the wind in the trees. New Hampshire in winter is utterly beautiful. Of course driving was treacherous this week, and my daughter and I both worked remotely from home Tuesday!
Well, belatedly, here is Chapter 30, September Days. I do have the rest of my sections recorded and will get them in before I leave for a short trip to Haiti in a week or so.

And, I give you The Skunk: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/newenglandwoods_32_robinson_128kb.mp3

Reminds me of a camping trip to Vermont when the kids were young. Each night, after the others were safely in the tent, I would sit up at the table reading by the lantern. And, on schedule, a skunk would come out of the long grass and explore the campsite, including under the table where I sat -- quite motionless, I assure you, and I never did introduce myself.

I thought I'd do the next two, but then decided to plow on through to finish.
October and November all long past, and we are hunkered down for a major snow storm this weekend, expecting 1-2 feet. I'm working from home tomorrow and Monday, then Tuesday escape to Haiti for the rest of the week.
I've been through an ice-storm or two.
The day I-70 was closed from Denver to the Kansas border. They turned us around and we were fortunate enough to find an RV park right where we needed it. Of course there was the major, very destructive ice storm that hit the Northeast in 2008. We were further northwest in New Hampshire at the time. It even has its own Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_2008_Northeastern_United_States_ice_storm
These are in the MW Ready for PL.
