Section 9 is also PL OK. This one is certainly going to be unnerving.

I've always found premonition to be a little disturbing and he seems to have it in abundance.

Don't let me rush you. I still have 8 chapters of Huck Finn to edit besides coursework.

yes you'll have time for that, you know I'm not the fastest in this project LOL There's always plenty of other things that need taking care of first.

and I finished the second part of the Tipster. The cunning plan is being hatched...it was inevitable of course:

Recording time: 15:51 min.

the next chapter is way longer, will need some time for that one.

Linny ! I worked the last two entire evenings, but I finished the Tipster ! I give you one long and one very short section, so you don't have to wait for the finale.

Now I don't know the first thing about horse-racings or betting but I think (I hope) I brought it over convincingly. :?

Recording time: 1:57 min.

Now I definitely need an out-time before the next section, which is also quite long. But I think after that one, the rest will be shorter.

thanks :) I notice I make less pronunciation errors lately. :9:

And in that story I could only shake my head at the stupidity of this guy. I'm not a betting-person at all, but IF for some reason I would have to bet to win a lot of money, I would at least, from the start, keep the money I borrowed on the side and not bet with that as well. And with each win I would keep a bit more money on the side. So in the end, when the horse loses, at least I would not be totally ruined.

How greedy can one be  I seriously could not pity this guy in the end. He had it coming.

I completely agree. I'm not a gambler. I've seen that crazy look when others are gambling though. Certainly can become a sickness. It wasn't like that for this guy. This one was just foolish.

And yes, pronunciation has been spot on! I've been following the text for each reading. :9:

I'm back with another chapter :) Now after the card-game and the horse-betting, here is a third sport I know absolutely ZERO about, but which I need to make sound accurate throughout the recording  Rugby !

I started to wonder why the author tenaciously chose areas of expertise which totally clash with my knowledge :?

Well, the story in question is quite predictable, but nevertheless the classic ending will always be chilling, I think. I liked the atmosphere, despite the rugby setting. Judge for yourself:

Recording time: 25:15 min.

Oh and good news: page-wise this was the longest chapter left, so I'm in high hopes that the other chapters all are under 25 minutes long. :9:

Have a nice Sunday !

Well done, Sonia.

6:13 I believe they are playing 15 men
I heard man

21:50 p166 We were so disconcerted by Mason’s total failure that they got the drop on us.
The second syllable is generally a kin v con.

I don't think either of these is a real issue. They would be fine to leave as is.

thank you again, Linny :D I corrected the two issues.
linny wrote:6:13 I believe they are playing 15 men

you know, I probably did, but what surprises me more is that you never took issue before, because I believe I never ever do a difference in sound with the words "man" and "men". I was always under the impression there is not really a difference. Not like with "woman" and "women". Also when I hear other people read the word "men" I don't think I notice much of a difference. :hmm:

Be that as it may, I think you probably mean I should draw out the "ehhh" a bit more in the middle (what else could it be ?) so here is the line again. Do you notice a difference ? I hope that is what you had in mind.

thank you for the link, indeed I stressed on "con" instead of "cert", that's a new pronunciation I learnt  I try to remember it. However I do not understand what you mean by "is generally a kin v con" :help:

Hope it is better now. I only corrected those two sentences and they are still at the same spot.

Linny, I started on a new short story, in 3 chapters. Chapter 1 is quite short, so here it is, to whet your appetite. A bit of patience for the rest though...those parts are longer.
