Flash Evans, Camera News Hawk by Frank Bell ( - 0) .

Jimmy 'Flash' Evans, 17, ace photographer for The Brandale Ledger, tries his hand at the newsreel game in this upbeat, pre-war adventure. Bell was actually the prolific Mildred Wirt Benson, most famous for writing the early Nancy Drew novels under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene.( Matt Pierard)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/55694
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

According to A Dictionary of Literary Pseudonyms in the English Language, edited by T.J. Carty (on GoogleBooks), Bell was actually the prolific Mildred Wirt Benson, 1905-2002! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mildred_Benson
She also wrote Nancy Drew and Penny Parker mysteries.

I'll set this up for you shortly. If you don't mind I'd also like to be the dpl. With two older sisters I'm a fan of ND and PP.

Thanks, Dave! Should this be credited to Mrs. Benson or left as Frank Bell? I'm thinking keeping Bell but adding a mention in the summary.

Frank Bell is not in the author database so there will be a delay in setting this up. If you want to upload a file just insert "craigdav1" in the upload file name.

edit: Seeking advice from another Admin.

They are in my folder! You don't need to add my username to the file name, just select me from the dropdown list. Sorry for the confusion.

1-3 PL OK.

Let me know if anything needs fixing. It would be easier for me (as I'm still learning how to use my Admin magic wand!) if you uploaded the first three sections again. This time following the format and instructions shown above. Thanks in advance.

First three re-upped with standard file name. Four more also in the MW. Thanks. MC'ing is a big job, I know. :) (which is why I didn't become one).

I re-edited 5 and put it in the MW. Not sure what happened, but when I saved it again today after doing the edits you pointed out, I went back to make a couple more adjustments and it appeared not to have taken. One line was unchanged, and I don't know how that's possible.
