Dave -

One time I did laugh out loud in public (and nearly fell off the pavement) was when I was listening to Alan Bennett reading his book 'Smut' - try it . . .

Two more:

26-27 PL OK.

Library doesn't have that book but does have several other Bennett books which I will start on shortly. "Stephanie Plum" novels (written by Janet Evanovich) are pretty funny at times.

'Smut' is definitely smutty - perhaps your library has censored it . . . !

Never heard of Stephanie Plum - I'll try one - thanks for the tip.

Here's 28 re-done. My Kindle occasionally gets stuck when I want to turn the page. You're lucky I didn't actually swear . . .

And here is 30 (20:49)

And 31 (18:06)

Dramatic stuff -

28, 30-31 PL OK.

I'd leave just a fraction of a second more silence at the beginning of each file.

32-33 PL OK.

Perfect. My mp3 player doesn't play the first fraction of a second of a file. It seems to be less of an issue on my computer.

Bev / Dave -

I've posted an opening 'Quote' - which I have lifted directly from 'Good Reads' because it would be very hard to better it! Is this OK?

I'm sorry to have to say no, it is not ok. Librivox summaries need to be public domain and Goodreads blurbs are not. You can take the information, rearrange it, add and subtract from it to make it your own but we can't use a direct quote.

I thought you might say that, Bev! Fair enough - I'll come up with something different -
