COMPLETE Companionable Books, Henry van Dyke - mas
You're going a great job with the reading...it seems to me the sentence structure and word selection indicate that this was a book that was not written for the ear but the eye.
Its a wonderful book, though, and I'm glad you decided to share it.

Mary Ann:
Great reading (and a delightful change of pace)! Section 9 is PL-OK
(Throughout the discussion of Walton's Compleat Angler--another book title kept running through my head--Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance--not sure why.
Well done,
Philip

Mary Ann:
What a beautiful chapter and very nicely read!
Just a couple of notes:
17:04 I heard "2 poets"; I expected "2 poems"
18:09 I heard "low crouched"; I expected "low couched"
19:17 I heard "again as Lesbian grove" I expected "Again as in the Lesbian Grove."
Keats is always a nice start to the day!

Chapter 10:
Another beautiful Chapter. Just a couple of minor notes:
at 15:35 I expected to hear "need of study"; I heard "no need of study"
at 18:37 the phrase which begins "Against inquisitive" is repeated at 18:43.
You're really getting through this material in great shape. I'm impressed.

Mary Ann:
Another great job.
One little thing
at 31:10--I expected to hear "pace and voice"; I heard "pace and violence"
Stevenson was one of the first authors I ever remember hearing read (A Child's Garden of Verse).
