British Sea Birds by Charles Dixon (1858 - 1926).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/british-sea-birds-by-charles-dixon/

Charles Dixon describes briefly each of the British sea-going birds, their appearance, habits and distribution, in an easy to understand manner, generally separated into their family groups. ( clarinetcarrot)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/47115
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

1 PL OK.
2
18:12-18:16 delete repeat, "save on passage.."
19:29-19:32 delete repeat, "the note.."
In your intro and outro you refer to this section (chapter 1 part 2) as "chapter 2."

Thank you very much for offering to DPL!

The reason I called it chapter 2 was because I was following the automatic instructions on what to say at the beginning and end of each recording, and it seemed reasonably sensible to leave it as the default rather than change it to 'section', and just ignore the original chapter numbering, calling them by their names instead. I'm quite happy to change this around if you think it better, which would I think follow what the magic window table says (will have to edit first recording to make it fit too).

Either is probably ok as long as you are consistent. I lean towards using section so as not to confuse a reader who is looking at the book. As you mention the chapter titles though it's pretty obvious which book chapter you are reading.

Ok, I've gone with what you've suggested which I think is probably best (bit of laziness on my part not wanting to change things if they didn't have to be) and have updated both recordings accordingly.
