Hi all -
Autumn closing in here in NZ, while spring blossoms for you...
Just put up Section 7 - I have tried upgrading my recording environment with blankets to deaden outside noise - hope it is better.

I changed my recording set up to deaden the sound a bit more and I think it made a difference. Glad you could maybe tell a little bit of difference.

Hi All! Or You Two
I don't have a recording this month the time got away from me along with the call of the outdoors. And I'll be gone for the summer. I still hope to record and post it next month but overall I need a break through August and then resume my normal schedule. I can check in here and post an update every month though so you know I am still active.
Hope all is well wherever you are, and that this is ok.

I'm back and working on the next set. I have had terrible bronchitis and still have it. It affected my vocal quality. I am going to try a set this week. and upload to see if you all think my voice is clear enough.

Ok its up, I'm back. I think its better than before with new recording area and more calm relaxed voice. I thank you kindly for your patience with me.
Section 8 - No errors in reading; however, there are several technical specs that aren't correct.
--Volume is 77 dB, so it needs amplified at least 10 dB
--The bit rate isn't set for 128 kbps, and should be constant instead of variable
--The file name should have 08 instead of 8.
Because Section 8 was off, I went back and did tech spec checks (lots of rhyming there LOL) on the rest of the files.
Section 7 also has an issue with the bit rate.
Section 1 is just a hair under the volume range at 85.6 dB, so it also needs amplified - but only by about 2 dB.
I'm changing Sections 1 & 7 to "See PL Notes" so I don't forget about them.

Ok I see all this and will apply and reupload. I had to change computer I was using so that's why the specs changed.
Also noted I need to put the time and say "ready for PL"
thank you again.

In your experience with Audible, should I be able to just adjust these settings and output again? or do I have to re-record?

in audacity you just need to import the mp3 file
Then amplify if needed - you may find you can't amplify enough without "clipping" - if so
if it's just a couple of peaks you can flatten them by highlighting the peaks and amplifying them by a minus (negative) value. It's always better to do more than once with a smaller -number than once with a high one but you can always undo if something sounds wrong and try again
Then amplify the whole recording
Once thats done export as an mp3 , setting your output to our specs
And remembering to make the file name have 2 digits
Yell if you hit a snag
