Hi Anne-

I'm confused. I checked all my tech settings from the libriVox information sheet. I'm not sure how to set recording volume so it is okay going forward but I set the bar next to the microphone at .88 - is that where to set recording volume?

To correct Section One, I loaded it, selected all and hit amplify, and I get a menu box that says the Amplification is 2.5. I increased it for the whole recording and it looks bigger (amplified) but when I open the amplify box again it now says it is at -1.437.

Now I can export it, but how do I check the volume level?

The only issue with Section 7 is that it's just a hair too loud. Checker shows it at 93.6 dB, so it would need de-amplified by at least 1.6 dB.

That's not a problem, so just mark it OK. To explain, during cataloguing we attempt to level the volume.
If it's too low it amplifying is only possible until it starts to clip, so we need it in the range requested however if it is high and there is no clipping on the file it can be easily made to the preferred volume automatically

Hi just uploaded Sect 8

the BC admin box did something funny. Sect 7 has been marked PL okay, but when I uploaded the link for Section 8, it commented that Sect 8 was PL ok and Set 7 was not!

Thought I should give a heads up on that.

I find it quite easy to slip using the PL dropdown - if you do it's easy to enter it in the one below the one you thought you were using which doesn't quite explain things.

Hi Anne- now it is showing 1 is not approved, but it was approved after review again. I think something may be buggy with the display. Unless there is something new wrong with 1.
