Mount Royal Volume II by Mary Elizabeth Braddon (1835 - 1915).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

https://librivox.org/mount-royal-volume-2-by-mary-elizabeth-braddon/

A classic Victorian sensation novel filled with romance, mystery, and murder with emphasis on romance. ( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/stream/mountroyalnovel02brad
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Sorry to just be noticing this now, Celine, but double quotes (") are a problem in the titles. They are incompatible with the html on the archive.org page and get cut off in the ID3 tags on the files when we upload the files to archive. To get around this, you can either leave them off or use 2 single quotes instead of a double quote. I've fixed the titles for vol 1 before I uploaded them, but I would appreciate it if you could make the changes in the section tiltes here and keep it in mind for vol 3 if applicable.

For future reference, you should not include the following characters in section titles

" ; / & > or <

Thanks!

Wow Helen...you sure went through those quickly. Thank you so much.
I should finish it on the weekend. I have a feeling we're in for bad news though. Hope not!

Well it's done and I'm still wondering. :-)

Have uploaded remaining files!!! BTW Helen you will no doubt notice that I switched the name Vandeleur to Tregonell on page 256 in chapter 10. There's an error in the text. :-)

So this will be complete Jo unless I need to do pickups. In the future I will put in fewer sections and add them so you don't have to remove them. :)

Am going to take a little break before starting Volume 3. :):)

Have a great week!! Happy Academy Awards night!!

Yayyy! Thank you so much for being such a prompt and great DPL Helen. It is now complete.

However I'm waiting to see if I should change the pronunciation of Braddon as was suggested by Kirsten. I'll let you know once I hear from Jo.

Have a great few days...see you soon. :D
