I wouldn't be able to start working on them for about 2 weeks because of my little backlog

but if that's okay, I would like to claim section 2, please?

PL notes for chapter 1--

the first note is mostly/also for the BC, I suppose. I didn't really think about it when just reading the title/intro, but as I listened to it, I was immediately puzzled. in this chapter, Eva read the title correctly according to the info in the first project post--"The Poems of Sappho: An Interpretative Rendition into English, by Sappho, translated by John Myers O'Hara"... but this seems confusing. the "rendition in to English" was not done by Sappho, after all.
the Gutenberg title just has "The Poems of Sappho: An Interpretative Rendition into English by John Myers O'Hara," and I think this is clearer. the "of Sappho" in the title already designates that they are her poems, so including "by Sappho" doesn't make sense, does it?
hopefully, since it's so early in the project, changing that small thing won't be too complicated.

and then a stanza got skipped at 18:29:

"Bringing ineffable peace, and the gladsome
Return with the night of all things that morning
Ruthlessly parted, the child to its mother,
Lover to lover."

all the rest sounds really really good.

So glad you're PLing this, Plaidsicle. Thank you!

I started to get a little confused pasting everything together toward the end. I may have that stanza in my raws and just accidentally cut it out. Thank you SO much for listening carefully to this whole thing.

Good points on the intro. I will make that change when I fix the missing stanza, given Carolin's thoughts.

Thank you both! Youre right, the intro does not make sense. I hadnt seen it that way before. I have taken out a part so that it now reads
"The Poems of Sappho: An Interpretative Rendition into English by John Myers O'Hara."

Sorry for that, eva, but would you mind deleting the "by sappho, translated" from the middle of that sentence? :)

Plaidsicle, stanza replaced near 18:26 for spot PL. :) And intro change is in there as well.

Carolin, could I please also add section 5, Girlfriends, to my Sappho shopping cart?

(I would also start that in a few weeks like the other section.)
