But no sooner is the campaign underway than his body turns up in Sydney Harbour. Who did it? Nat Gould, the author of this mystery, was one of the most widely read of his day, especially among lovers of horse racing, the subject of many of his novels. Born in Manchester, England, Gould spent 11 years in Australia, where he set many of his stories. (Phil Benson)
