  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

PrincessG has set this up as a solo for herself. After you get some experience, you're welcome to record the same book if you like - we allow multiple versions of works. :)

Speaking of that - PrincessG, were you aware there are a couple versions of this in the catalog? It's fine if you want to do a new version; some people aren't aware of such things and don't want to do a duplicate, so we mention it just in case.

Hi Tricia -
I am aware of a few different versions and don't mind doing a duplicate. It's all about the reader for me and I know I like to have several options when I listen to a favorite book.
I hope to have this finished before my deadline!

Ok it's almost set up.
It's a long time since you recorded here - if you want a great result I'd suggest you posted a 30sc-1 min recording over in listeners and editors wanted just to check your settings .

OK , you are now in the database as a coordinator

You'll be the book coordinator for the project, which mainly means that you will put the recodings into the Magic Window (MW) and update it. Here are instructions for how to log into the MW for the first time:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxWB83bbALTQYjlENGZ0SVJUWWs

You can enter the titles for each section , the duration of each recording in the "Notes" column, and the link to the recording in the URL link column :) (For more information on book coordinating: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kVj409nG_E0XJ5UrrcL7EVx7Qyx-2UQ7dbw4mINi3XQ).
I've added a couple of titles just to show you - you can change them if you want.

This is the preface so the file name should have 0 in it.
Forgot to mention "preface" at beginning of intro, otherwise reading is pl ok (The word preface is at the end of the intro).
Volume is low (78.8dB) but lack of clipping makes amplification easy.
Good reading.

Thanks - I'll send a PM then and see what happens. She obviously didn't realise we were not automatically told when a file was uploaded and as I have 1103 files in my folder it's easy to overlook 1 when I do go and look
