Section 25 uploaded.

It starts at Of Groundsel and Chickweed Sellers - PDF 168-173 / text 153-158, and ends at Of the Street Sellers of Eatables, text page 158

I've made the errata changes on text page 158 (near the end of the sound file):-

At 33.48, col 2 line 17 - 13,949 corrected to 13,950 (bunches of watercresses)
At 34.12 col 2 line 20 - 520 corrected to 572 (chickweed and plantain)
At 34.15 col 2 line 21 - 28,504 to 28,557 (total)

Total recorded so far is approximately 16:07:34

Section 24 PL notes (at last!):
0:06 "Part 1" instead of "Volume 1"
24:38 p151 last line 2nd column end of the word “washing” missing.

There are some quite distracting background noises from 28 min onwards: maybe just a general noise reduction from here to the end?

I'll get to 25 soon.

Thanks, Gill,
I've uploaded the edited files. I'm sorry about the delay.

In section 24, I couldn't hear the background noise (or see it on the logarithmic display), but I've applied another 7dB of noise reduction from around 23.30 onwards, based on an obviously noisy one-second patch of silence. I hope that's cleared it.

It's a lovely book. Sort of the other side of Jack London's People of the Abyss; here are the facts of life and the interviews of the poor in Dickensian London without them being embedded in the author's storytelling skills.

Yes, I always love another window into the lives of the people struggling with our power systems. The human face of it.

Section 26 PL

Just two things:
10:53 "gleamed" repeated (text p160 line 18).
19:15 "fine" said instead of "flue (kettles)" p161 1st column, line 18 from bottom.

Thanks, Gill. I've uploaded edited section 26.

I zoomed in on the PDF for the second correction ("fine" / "flue"). I do think that it's actually "fine". If you look at the bottom left of the n/u, you can see the serif; compare this to the u in "would" a few words earlier. And the i/l isn't as tall as nearby L's. I think I'll stick with "fine".

Next section is half way recorded, though lots of editing still to do.
