Thanks, Gill; it's nice to know I can get the occasional section done without significant mistakes!

I've edited and re-uploaded section 45. I rerecorded the entire sentence for the error at 5.29

Thanks, Gill.

Section 47 uploaded.
From "Of the Street Poets ... " PDF 305-312 / text 278-285

There's a typo at 39.42, In the text, the first word on two lines that are one line apart, have been swapped over. I did try recording it as it's printed, but it made no sense, so I corrected it. It's in the last para, col 2, p 283, first word in lines -2 and -4 swapped over. The sentence is printed as "... for [while] he suffered the last penalty of the law at Aylesbury, he was guilty of two other barbarous murders [which] abroad as a transport in Van Dieman's Land."

Total so far, approx. 29:50:23

Section 48 is from "Of the Street Sellers of Conundrums" p285

PL for Section 47:
10:37 an extra "oh" for some reason before "I often thought of it", but this could be left in. p279 2nd column, end of 1st paragraph.

Thanks for catching that, Gill. I was going to leave it, but when I listened to it, it sounded as if I'd failed to edit an "Oh" in my natural voice. So I have taken it out. Please don't bother to PL the edited file, as it will be okay either way.

No worries. I'm sure I've heard that first poem before, by the way. Perhaps by Burns, although I can't find it in his catalogue.

Thanks, Gill; section 48 edited and uploaded.

I didn't recognise the poem at all, and couldn't find it by doing word searches on google. I'm not experienced in Burns's poetry, though I did read the "Merry Muses of Caledonia" collection quite a few years ago (bawdy verses known or suspected to be by him). Ever since then, I've had one of the verses stuck in my head: "I rede you beware of the ripples, young man. Dance less with your arse to the kipples." .... "I warn you to watch out for back ache, young man; dance less with your back side to the rafters."

Oh, and I remember Colonel Stok and "Harry Palmer" quoting Burns in Len Deighton's Billion Dollar Brain!
