PL for Section 39
(11:09 "over one another" said for "one over another" - I would normally ignore that, but it is a quote from the paper, just in case such a thing still survives" - at our discretion, then)

19:17 "sympathetic" said for "sympathising" (gent) - needs to be "sympathising" because it's a repeated term from 19:02 p238 2nd column about 2/3 down.
(19:59 "threepenny" said as "three-penny" p238 14 lines from bottom)
21:24 "indeed" repeated (although it is actually a nice effect!) p239 end of 1st para
26:09 short cough? before "Scotch, English and Irish" p234 2nd column, 13 lines from bottom.

"ours" is fine; I just have the deciding vote in the case of a tie!

I've uploaded section 40. I've used slightly different settings on the compressor, to cut down on spikes. Could you tell me if it causes any noticeable changes in the sound quality, please, Gill?

Section 40 is From "Of Political Litanies" - PDF 257-264 / text 236-241

Total so far, approx 25:12:03

Section 41 is from "Of Religious Tract Sellers", col 2, 264/241

Thanks, Gill. Section 40 edited and re-uploaded. I'm not sure I've got rid of the sniff at 1.55 or the swallow at 34.41.

I try not to think of it as three-fifths of it still to do! Over one solid day's recording so far, which means probably more than four solid days' work on the project. ... which, said like that, doesn't seem SO much work over a couple of years!

EDIT: It's going to be an enormous stack of CDs if someone "produces" it on ebay!

Thanks, Gill.

We're racing towards the finishing line!

Section 41 uploaded. It ends in the middle of one of the little headed essays, as that essay was getting too long.

There's a typo corrected at 24.20: PDF 268 / text 245, col 2, para 3, line 8 "Journeying near the Frith of Forth ..." corrected to "... Firth of Forth ..."

The next section starts at the bottom of 272/249, col 1 - "Out of some four score such habitations ..."

Total so far approx 25:59:00

PL for Section 41

25:34 - repeat of "so that I ain't worth a d-n" p246 1st column, end of first paragraph.
31:19 - 21: repeat of "the clock struck five" p247 top.
46:19 - 24: repeat "to need that meaningless" p249 1st column, 12 lines from bottom

Brazen idea at the jeweller's!

Thanks, Gill; I must have been falling asleep when I was editing that chapter.

More confidence tricks in the next section, too.

Edited and re-uploaded.

Thanks, Gill .. and here's section 42.

Section 42 From bottom of 272/249, col 1 - "Out of some four score such habitations ..." to 277/254, col 1, "Of The Filth ...."

TYPO at 24.07 (p253, col1, end of para 2) "... woe to the deputy if his return do not evince this fulness." CORRECTED to "returns", to fit the form of the verb.

Total so far, approx 26:30:20
