Yes, sorry! Must have been checking for new recordings on this thread and made the mistake with my own recording.

I'm sorry about the delay; here's section 54. It's a long one, as it finishes a major section of the book.

Section 54 From "Of the probable means of reformation..." - PDF 350-358 / text 315-323

Total so far, approx. 34:04:27

Section 55 is from "Of the Street Sellers of Manufactured Articles", PDF 358/text 323

PL for Section 54
1:58 a swallow at the beginning of "and so they arrive at the conclusion..." p315 2nd column, middle of second full paragraph.
14:30 "domicile" said for "domiciles" p317 2nd column, towards end of 2nd last full paragraph.
(21:00 perhaps add a "quote" before this final paragraph, p318 2nd column, and an "end quote" at 28:12)
21:04 missing "much of my attention" at beginning of this quote, p318 2nd column, final paragraph
34:46 repeat of "principle-less" p320 2nd column, 10 lines from bottom

Thanks, Gill,
I've uploaded the corrected file for section 54.

I've not added the quote/unquote at 21.00-28.10 that you suggested. I don't think that I've used quote/unquote anywhere else in the recording, and I did try to give the speaker a slightly more "affected" or educated voice than the narrator. But do say if you think that the separation is essential, and I'll rerecord the paragraph with a more pronounced different voice.

I couldn't hear the swallow at 1.58, but I've deamplified the silence by 20dB. Has that cleared it?

Thanks, Gill; here's section 55.

We're getting errata again:

Page 325, end of second paragraph in column 2.
(13.44) "... we find £780 expended in the street-sold hardwares." (becomes £3,900)

page 329, in the second to last paragraph in the section (before "The Crippled Street-Seller of Nutmeg-Graters")
(39.45) "... this amounts to £3,500 additional; " (becomes £13,500)
(39.51) "... comes to £700." (becomes £2700)
(39.59) "... profits of the 100 cheap Johns £25,000, or £250 a man." (becomes £20,700 and £207)

***
Total so far: 34:44:52

Section 56 will be from "Crippled Street-Seller of Nutmeg Graters", col 2, p 329

Thanks, Gill. I've edited all the text corrections. I've edited a few of the clicks, but I couldn't detect some of them (and they'll have moved a bit because of the editing, so I may have missed them), so I'm afraid they'll just have to stay in.

If I do eventually put this project up onto audible, to foil the resellers, I'll go through the whole thing again with headphones, checking quality. I hope to clear any clicks then.

It's fabulous! So interesting. So heart-breaking, most of the time, too.
I especially "enjoyed" learning about the horse and livestock droppings …

Thanks, Gill,
Section 56 edited and uploaded. I've generally deamplified the areas you noted, but couldn't see more than a couple of clicks in the introduction (and removed them), so that bit's relatively untouched.

Thanks, Gill.

I've uploaded section 57.

Section 57 From "Of the Life of a Cheap John" PDF 373-377 / text 336-340

EDIT: I'm glad you and your DPL are enjoying volume 2. What an awful world we lived in .. and are living in. We don't see the underside of life. This really is the complement to Jack London's People of the Abyss that I read for LV a few years ago .... people surviving by picking up scraps of food from the pavements and gutters!
