We have had a server problem viewtopic.php?f=12&t=62490
Any files and posts made in that time were lost. The MW shows the only files I have for this project - if any are missing you will need to reupload and post the links , If everything is fine could you just post so I can cross you off my list

Chapters 4 and 5, which were lost in the Great Tea Trolley Disaster of 2016, have been re-uploaded, and as they were previously Oked, I've taken the liberty of marking them as "PL OK".

Chapter 6, "Two Cases For The Doctor", has also been uploaded, and is awaiting PL.

Reminded me of when I was a kid and needed to have my teeth drilled so as to fill in crevices. I had a funny reaction to the anaesthetic the first time for some reason, so the dentist drilled the remaining teeth without any anaesthetic at all. That was a whole heap of fun.

Cheers,
Son of the Exiles

As somebody once noted "Voices are hushed and old men grow stern and thoughtful when the Great Tea Trolley Disaster of '67 is mentioned." I have quite a bit of dentistry in my immediate future. I suppose I can only hope for the best with the anaesthetic...

I will PL Chapter 6 over the weekend.

Best,

Barbara

There's always the nitrous oxide, I suppose.

My wife had quite a few whiffs of this during the birth of our first child, and to her credit, the "worst" thing she said was "Ohh myyy!!"

Ah, having listened to uncle wanting chloroform, I appreciate your comment all the more.

PL OK, by the way. Love Mrs McNevin.

Dad's from the Darling Downs, so I blame daylight saving for the delay. You know what they say about the signs at the border.

"Now entering Queensland. Please set clocks back ten years."

By the way, the muse was with me this weekend, and I got a lot of stuff recorded, including a "proof-of-concept" audition or "pilot episode" of the first part of that other Librivox project we three were discussing. Care for a listen? I reckon as I made the role believable. :D

Sure, SOTE, that would make a delightful coda* to my weekend.

Is there some sort of temporary upload scratchpad we can use?

Anne will know if Librivox provides anything. All I can think of is you putting it up on Dropbox and giving us permission to play or download the file. I've never tried to do that myself though.

Best,

Barbara

Dropbox, oh SOTE, is in the famous "cloud". You buy space on Dropbox and it backs up your data every time it changes (even just a comma) and allows you to access your data from other devices. You can use it for free if you don't want much space.

I found this:

https://www.dropbox.com/en/help/19

And that's all I know about the matter. I actually expected a bear of your shining parts to know more than I do.

Best,

Barbara

Alas, I fear my shining parts are merely the magpie repellers on my bicycle helmet.

But never fear, I shall inquire re Dropbox and return. (Strikes dramatic pose, but unstrikes it when football socks fall down*.)
