PL OK and the volume just right. I hope Sandy gives us a few more songs, enjoyed that.

I hadn't realised that the Downs were thickly wooded. No wonder the wood-chopping events at the shows used to draw such a crowd.

Barbara

They still do at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney. You're lucky to get a seat some days. It's been a favourite of my family's for generations. My Mum could sit all day watching the woodchopping events. I grew to love the sport too. I wondered if my daughter and son would, and it turned out, they do.

The visiting Canadians are faster than our blokes, but they're not used to the Australian hardwoods, which means our fellas get more out of each stroke, and generally beat them.

Canadian lumberjacks. Now you've gone and given me an ear-worm.

Early days yet obviously, but I wonder whether, for our next project, Google Books could be convinced to free up that PD copy of "Back At Our Selection" they have there?

As I remember, that's where Dave gets married to a lovely girl, and Dad Rudd finally meets his match in Dave's mother-in-law.

The Univ of Qld Fryer Library has 4 copies. I checked only 2 of them and both were PD and marked "loanable". Found via:

Try Google and have a go - there was nothing special about me.
I searched , I clicked on "where's the rest of this book"
then , once their help comes up , there is a small clickable link in the blurb about PD about reviewing the PD status . Say it's clearly PD in Australia and most other countries because he died in 1935
And see what happens

OK, I've sent the request off to Google, and I wait with baited breath. (Yes, I know what I just wrote. I've been eating prawns, you see.)

Very funny, SOTE. I don't know which voice is my favourite, perhaps Sandy's? No, uncle's. No, Dads.
PL OK.

Perfect, SOTE. PL OK.

All the clearing for crops and pasture was just providing gourmet delights as far as the roos were concerned?

Best,

Barbara
