Lord Tony's Wife by Baroness Orczy (1865 - 1947).
After rescuing Yvonne de Kernogan from the ravages of the French Revolution, Lord Anthony Dewhurst, faithful follower of the Scarlet Pimpernel, falls in love with the young woman. They marry in secret, against the wishes of her father, the Duc de Kernogan, who planned to use Yvonne's hand as a bargaining chip to bring money to the Royalist cause. With Yvonne stolen away by her furious father, Tony must turn to his friend, Sir Percy Blakeney -- the Scarlet Pimpernel -- for help in rescuing his young wife. - Summary by Karen Savage
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/35117
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Sure thing. Thanks for offering!

I have another day or so left on my other solo, and then I'll be starting this one.

I'm about halfway through the prologue, and I've decided that I'm not going to read out the subsection numbers within the chapters. I'll just leave a slightly longer pause than between paragraphs. Just so you know. :)

Just FYI, I am still working on this, but I've been dealing with an ear infection that makes it painful to wear my headphones (a necessity, since I do punch-and-roll recording).

I'm sorry to hear about you ear infection :( My ears get plugged and sore when I get a cold, so I can sort of relate, it's certainly not fun. I hope it gets better soon!
