Thanks Kathrine!

And here's the first file. I tried the Compressor effect on it for the first time. I was having variable volumes at random intervals for no discernible reason. SweetPea suggested the Compressor. Let me know if it sounds alright.

Also, any tips on how to improve the reading in practical ways are appreciated.

Don't forget to add the link and file duration to the MW! (Let me know if you need any help!)

Section 2 ready to go for PL. Although I may have lost an eardrum to the editing. Had some sort of equipment malfunction and there was some massive feedback spike. It doesn't seem to have been in the actual file. Something wrong on the headphones end. Going to find some Advil now.

Chapter 3 is also PL OK :)

There is a little bit more background hum in this chapter than in the other two sections. It is not terrible -- I just mention it in case you want to try removing it. Basically, I think it is ok the way it is :)

Thanks, Katherine! I'll leave section 3 for now. Maybe I'll come back to it later if I'm feeling perfectionistic :)

Meanwhile, chapter 4 is up. My folks were in town for the weekend, so there was a long pause. But I'm back to it now!

I have a suggestiong for section 4:
00:00-00:05 - the volume in the beginning, especially the first 3 seconds, is very soft. It is not very important, because it is just the intro disclaimer, and your listeners wouldn't miss any of the story. But still, you might want to amplify those seconds.

(This happens to me too, when I record. Now I make sure to just speak (or sing! ) a few seconds before I start reading the disclaimer, so that I can discard the first few seconds after I have finished amplifying etc.)

Nice recording! Haha, I had to laugh when he said that he didn't believe in hitting children, either, much.

I'm glad you're having fun listening. The Anne books are lots of fun. I just wish I could enter the books and be friends with everyone.

Thanks for the suggestion on 4 :) I was worrying about that, myself. Fixed it and reuploaded. Also put up section 5. Will probably work on editing section 6 now while my husband makes us pizza. We'll see how far I get before the aromas overcome me.

Great - the beginning of chapter 4 sounds good now :)

Chapters 5, 6, and 7 are PL OK:) Chapter 5 has a little background sound (I think it might be electrical hum, but am none too sure), chapters 6 and 7 are perfect

Yes Anne, I also think we should be prepared for the best :D

Chapter 8 is up. It's funny, I can't hear any background noise on 5. That being the case, I'm afraid to mess with another noise reduction, since it already sounds a little processed to me?

Hehe, a toad in Marilla's bed - "wouldn't it be fun to leave it there?" lol

Chapter 8 is PL OK - great reading!
