The Cave Girl by Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875 - 1950).
Blueblooded mama's boy Waldo Emerson Smith-Jones is swept overboard during a south seas voyage for his lifelong ill health. He finds himself on a jungle island. His bookish education has not prepared him to cope with these surroundings, and he is a coward. He is terrified when he encounters primitive, violent men, ape-like throwbacks in mankind's evolutionary history. He runs from them, but when he reaches a dead end, he successfully makes a stand, astonishing himself. While keeping the hairy brutes at bay, he meets a beautiful girl, Nadara, also on the run. In an uncharacteristic gesture, he saves her from the grasp of one ape-man during their escape. ( Wikipedia)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Lucylou,
I'd be happy to MC this for you. Let me just confirm that we are good with the serialized stories being published before 1923, even though the book edition was published later.

Thanks

Have already started recording.

What was the problem with some of the recordings?? Want to make sure they are all correct.

The bitrate was all over the place. If you were using audacity I could tell you that you would have a choice when saying you wanted mp3 files of having "constant bitrate" and "variable bitrate" . Is there some such option with your program ? If so you want "constant bitrate"
