A Daily Rate by Grace Livingston Hill (1865 - 1947).

A dreary boardinghouse, with unpalatable meals and slovenly housekeeping. But God will give Celia just what she needs each day - a daily rate. ( TriciaG)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/adailyrate00hill
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): Special

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Chapter 1 is up. Dreary, dark. Don't listen if you're in a depressed mood. :)

Alright, I'll take that warning. Since it's a very dark dreary day here.....

So let me know when you have enough done that I can pull up out of the doldrums before finishing.

Chapters 1, 2, & 3 PL OK

Nice singing. :)
Yeah, I can see them pronouncing Jehoiachin that way. Just than I've never heard it that way. ;) But, I'll admit this makes it clearer whether they're talking about Jehoiachin or Jehoiakim. I always had to listen closely for the last letter. :D

And, isn't that a good bookmark for us all? :-)

Yeah, E called Kevin about 9:30 last night about car and household stuff. :) Said they got home the day before.

Next chapter uploading now.

The song at the end took me a fairly long time to work out. (I find sheet music online for most of these old hymns and even that nursery rhyme in a previous chapter.) Why can't Pansy use songs in her stories that I already know?

Chapter 6 PL OK

Yeah, why do you suppose Pansy didn't use more modern hymns? 8-)

One you did the other day had a different tune than I am used to but... hey... that was probably the tune used in that day. :)

ETA: whoa that one was still hot off the press, posted a little over 40 minutes ago!

Yeah, it was. :) If you had had a little patience, you could have had two in a row to listen to. Tsk tsk tsk!
