Thanks, Ann! I don't know why the clicks seemed so noticeable to me. If they've been there all along, and I only just started noticing them now, I guess they can't have been very noticeable to begin with. Once they attracted my attention, I couldn't seem to stop hearing them. So it's good to have your reassurance that they aren't worth noticing after all!

Thanks, Ann!
I've been busy starting a new second job for the past couple of weeks, but hope to get some recording time going again later this week. :)
(The new job is proctoring state licensing exams. I'm still at the zoo, not planning to leave! But something steady, a couple days a week year round, will be nice when the zoo hours fluctuate all over the place seasonally!)

Oh, you are going to be one of those scary people! I took the state exam to get my real estate license a couple of years ago, those people are highly intimidating! Basically, I went in there and said, "Yes, ma'am!" to everything asked of me. Someone else did not, had a huge argument with one of the proctors and wasted 20 minutes of her exam time, along with the half hour that we all had before the test started. I have a feeling that she did not pass on that try. I wish you luck in your new job!

There are two other women I'm working with on the proctoring job, and none of us are very intimidating people, I would say. The others told me that there was a male proctor who recently retired who used to take as long as 20 minutes giving excruciatingly detailed instructions at the beginning. These women take between 6-8 minutes for initial instruction, and it all goes easily and with a smile. As one of them said, "These folks are already nervous enough about the test, why make it tougher when we don't have to?" If something comes up that needs to be corrected, they just go over to the person and say in a low voice, "Please don't write in the test booklet," instead of "Don't you listen? We told you not to write in the booklet! What's the matter with you!" I'm picking up their relaxed low-key manner and liking it.

And that finishes the Ninth Annual Report! Onward to the Tenth! (Then the 11th ... the 12th ... and done!)
