Arsène Lupin by Maurice Leblanc (1864 - 1941). Translated by Edgar Jepson (1863 - 1938)

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/arsene-lupin-by-maurice-leblanc/
This work was originally a four-act play written by Maurice Leblanc and Francis de Croisset, later novelized by Leblanc himself, translated by detective fiction writer Edgar Jepson and published in English, in 1909, under the simple title of Arsène Lupin. In the story, the young and snobbish daughter of a millionaire is about to marry the Duke of Charmerace, recently returned from a trip to the South Pole. However, things won't go as smoothly as expected for the spoiled girl and her faithful servant, mainly when Arsène Lupin, the famous gentleman-burglar, appears where he is least expected! (Summary by Leni)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/4014
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Leni,

Section 1 has a pause that made me look up at 3:50. Otherwise it was a great reading, except I'm not liking the soon to be Duchess.

Please reload Section 3 - I don't see the actual file in the uploader.

Haha! Thanks MaryAnn! Yes, the girl is very annoying. :p

Indeed, section 3 didn't upload. Weird. O.o I have just tried again now, and it seems to be there this time.

Thank you for the PLing notes. I will fix them soon. :D

Sorry for the sudden silence here, MaryAnn. I have the next two chapters recorded, but haven't found any time to edit. I don't think the next week will be any better, but after that I should have some quiet time. :)
