Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (1850 - 1894).

Treasure Island is an adventure novel, a thrilling tale of "buccaneers and buried gold." Traditionally considered a coming of age story, it is an adventure tale of superb atmosphere, character and action, and also a wry commentary on the ambiguity of morality—as seen in Long John Silver—unusual for children's literature then and now. ( wikipedia.org)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/120
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Please go and do the 1 minute test and post it in Listeners and editors wanted . We don't use live recordings as tests for a number of reasons , two of which are they are too long to ask people to download and listen to, and that any alterations you have to make will probably lead to a murky overworked poorer quality recording - which is not the way to start a Solo . People listen to the first file , go "yuk" and look for a better one.

Ok, you now have a MW and I have sent you a PM with some additional instructions that you will need. We will see if we can get a DPL soon.

1
outro at file end missing (see below), otherwise pl ok.

END of recording:
At the end of the section, say:
"End of [Chapter]"

Just upload the corrected file (with the same name) and it will replace the original file. I'll start updating the MW once Barry adds me to the project. I haven't read this since I was a wee tyke. Should be fun.
