Hi Dave...

When going back to check on which voice I'd used for which character I spotted a slip in section 12. Could I ask you to do a spot PL on the section between 3m45s and 4m00s please? Sorry about this...

New details are:

There's some background noise from low-flying aircraft in places. I've done my best to minimise them but I haven't managed to get rid of them altogether. After trying to insert one phrase (at 18:07) and completely failing to blend it in seamlessly I reckoned it was better to leave the background in rather than re-do the affected portions. let me know if you think it's getting in the way of the listening at all and I'll have another go at processing if it's a problem.

Cheers,
Paul

You did a great job minimizing any background noise. I completely agree with your decision and that's why I usually don't comment on extraneous sounds.

Thanks Dave.

Given the boggling number of works you PL for you'll probably not remember this next time I post a section, but I'm happy for you to make any critique you like, however harsh. I want to get better at this, both at the reading and the editing, and while it's often discouraging to be told when I foul up it also allows me to correct the poor practice in future.

Thanks again,
Paul

My only suggestion would be to not let your pauses go beyond ~4s. Yours are fine but they are about as long as I think pauses should be in an audio recording. Any longer and I'd be checking my player.

Dave: Section 16.

I've tried to close the gaps in editing - it now sounds a bit hurried to me so I'll try iterating different gap lengths over the next few sections to see how they go.

Barry: Looking ahead, Book XI looks really short so I'm inclined to tackle it in one section. This means removing a section and closing up the others. I can see a button in the MW to add a section but can't see how to delete one. If the answer is that you've got to do it for me, could you please remove section 21 and I'll retitle section 20. I'd rather learn how to do it myself if I'm able to though.

Thank you both,
Paul

There is an X to the far right of every row that deletes that row. If you don't see it then only the Admins have access to it.

16 PL OK.

The reading pace does seem a tad faster. My previous comment was referring only to the longer 3-4s gaps and their not getting any longer.
