Second Variety by Philip K. Dick (1928 - 1982) .

This project is complete and in our catalog at http://librivox.org/second-variety-by-philip-k-dick-2/

Quote:
First published in Space Science Fiction May 1953. "The claws were bad enough in the first place—nasty, crawling little death-robots. But when they began to imitate their creators, it was time for the human race to make peace—if it could!" When future war becomes so horrific that humans turn to machines and computers to design ways to kill each other strange things may happen. (summary from the story blurb an Phil Chenevert)

  • Target completion date: 2015-Jan-01
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/32032
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Woah. perhaps I uploaded the unedited file? I will make the corrections.
EDIT: Yep, I somehow forgot to edit the first 9 minutes or so that's why it was so bad ... and you got to hear me say a bad word ...aren't you lucky? sorry for the inconvenience but it is fixed and will be uploaded again in about 10 minutes. CORRECTINS DONE AND SECTION 1 UPLOADED again.

(sure hope the remaining files are in better shape. ) (and yes, I do a bit of cussin while recording when my tongue gets twisted up for the fifth time.) :D
