The Blue Island by W.T. Stead, by W. T. Stead (1849 - 1912)
Ten years after the Titanic went down, W.T. Stead's daughter Estelle published The Blue Island: Experiences of a New Arrival Beyond the Veil, which purported to be a communication with Stead via a medium. In the book, Stead describes his death at sea and discusses the nature of the afterlife. The manuscript was produced using automatic writing, and Ms. Stead cited as proof of its authenticity the writer's habit of going back to cross "t's" and dot "i's" while proof-reading, which she said was characteristic of her father's writing technique in life. IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Great! If a proof listener doesn't come along, we can put an advertisement out.

Oh, wow! You're making progress. I'll place an ad for a proof listener. It may help if you add a summary, anything to give them idea of what the book is about.

That's wonderful! I updated the summary in the places it needed to be. That is so interesting. It should help attract a proof listener. :)

Hello Soll and Amy,

This project looks very interesting to me. I'd love to be the DPL if you still need someone--my only concern is that I need to fit it in amongst my current assignments. If you are okay with me taking about 2 weeks max to listen, let me know and I'll get started.

Thanks very much,
Lora
