A Breviate of the Life of Margaret Baxter, by Richard Baxter (1615 - 1691)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/a-breviate-of-the-life-of-margaret-baxter-by-richard-baxter/
A breviate of the life of Margaret, the daughter of Francis Charlton, of apply in Shropshire, esq. and wife of Richard Baxter. For the use of all, but especially of their kindred. There is also published the character of her mother, truly described in her published funeral sermon, reprinted at her daughter’s request, called, the last work of a believer, his passing-prayer, recommending his departing spirit to Christ, to be received by him.

"Being thus obliged by her request, mine own affections urged me to premise this Breviate of her own life: Written, I confess, under the power of melting grief, and therefore perhaps with the less prudent judgment; but not with the less, but the more truth: For passionate weakness poureth out all, which greater prudence may conceal. Conscionable men’s histories are true; but if they be also wise, they tell us but some part of truth, concealing that which would do harm, and which the depraved world cannot bear without abusing it: But we that are less wise, tell all the truth, too little regarding how men will receive it. And hence comes all history, which hath not evidence equal to natural, to be of less credit than most men think; while bad men lie, and good men leave out so much of the truth, as makes the rest to be as another thing than altogether it would appear." (Summary by Richard Baxter To The Reader)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I'm setting this up.

I wonder if the full title would work better as the intro/summary. It's more concise and gives a good description of the contents:
A BREVIATE
OF THE
LIFE
OF
MARGARET,
The Daughter of
FRANCIS CHARLTON, of Apply in Shropshire, Esq
And Wife of RICHARD BAXTER. For the use of all, but especially of their Kindred. There is also Published the Character of her
Mother, truly described in her Published Funeral
Sermon, Reprinted at her Daughters Request,
called, The Last Work of a Believer, His passing-prayer,
recommending his departing Spirit to Christ,
to be received by him.
I'm too lazy to remove the line breaks. :p

Thankyou!

I've added the title page to the description for you to copy-paste. I did it initially, but I dropped it because everything from "There is also Published..." onwards refers to a different work.

OK, great.

So you're not recording the "Also published..." part of the work? In that case, it makes sense to leave that out of the summary. :)

Gladly. I've got one longer section recorded but not edited and then there will be a delay - got sick and my voice gave out. I'll get back to it as soon as I'm recording again.
